Climbing Rock Walls

Artificial walls for climbing began as a practice environments
for rock climbing, when actual rock was unavailable or weather did not
permit. Over the last few years, it has developed into a full blown sport.
Climbing on Artificial walls provides a stable and controllable atmosphere
for climbing and can be suited for all levels of climbers.
Artificial rock walls are quickly catching on as healthy recreation
as well, with gyms, corporates and even educational institutions providing
climbing walls for its members to encourage an attitude of fitness and
conquering challenges.
Artificial walls can be designed to be flexible toward changing abilities,
and can easily be modified to change difficulty levels. Different routes
on the wall can also be set for different grades of climbing challenge.
Vertical Adventure Inc. provides walls for organizations
and individuals to use for corporate or special events.
Corporations have been using rock wall
climbing as a team building exercise for several years, and find that
it gives newcomers to the sport a sense of confidence that surprises
them every time.
Rock climbing has become part of unique physical rehabilitation programs
that are helping some patients reach new heights in self confidence.
The wall is a new addition to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital
in Boston. Built by the group Access Sports America, it is allowing patients
to safely work their muscles in a fun, creative way.
So just how does wall climbing give patients
a leg up on therapy? That's something doctors are studying. They
get to work on balance, strength and endurance. It's kind of a chance
to get a full body workout because you're using your trunk, your arms,
your legs the whole time. Stretching
is always good for ones muscles, tissues and one's joints, and it gives
one a sense of accomplishment. The climbing wall is free for patients
at most Hospitals that participate in the programs.
Vertical Adventure is looking forward to making your event extraordinary.
